Mike Barnett - Senior Policy Officer
Description of Role - Mainly responsible for the service's customer and community research activities, including:
  • "Managing the "Speak Out!" panel, implementing surveys using it and carrying out subsequent analysis.
  • "Implementing, analysing and reporting on customer satisfaction research
  • "Consultation Strategy Implementation and training
  • "Rationalising research and consultation activity by establishing and maintaining a Consultation Calendar for monitoring and reporting on consultation activity across the Council. Working closely with partner organisations to develop a joint approach to research and consultation.
  • "Undertaking research and consultation to inform strategy development.
  • "Carrying out, commissioning and assisting other Departments to carry out, customer and community research and consultation.

Richard Smith - Policy Officer
Description of Role - Main area of work is the development and implementation of the Council's programme of customer research, particularly online surveys. Responsibilities include providing advice and assistance to managers and departments on matters relating to market research projects, including survey design, agency appointment, analysis, interpretation and presentation of results.

Beverley Nuttall - Observatory Assistant
Description of Role - Responsible for providing research assistant support to all parts of the Bradford Observatory service and all stages of research and consultation projects. Includes maintenance, "cleaning" and analysis of data sets, dealing with requests for information, including extracting information from the Census using SASPAC software, assistance in implementing consultation programmes and events, assisting in the production of publications including the SpeakOut Questionnaire.

Stephen Elves - Corporate GIS Manager
Description of Role - Mainly responsible for development of strategic information systems including corporate GIS and web-based systems. Current work areas include:
  • "To lead GIS work within the council and the wider district both strategically through the Corporate GIS Project and operationally through managing the Corporate GIS team.
  • "Ensure GIS supports and extends the wider information and knowledge management aspirations of the District.
  • "Manage the design and implementation of the GIS Service
  • "Develop the GIS Service to support evolving Council objectives and ways of working
  • "To manage the existing GIS projects and integrate them into the new service
  • "Represent the GIS Service on the GIS Board
  • "Advising and assisting other Departments in the development of GIS applications and other information systems and responding to one-off requests (from Council Departments, other agencies and public) for GIS processing of data as appropriate.

Observatory Officers - 3 Posts
Description of Role - The main role of the three Observatory Officers is to develop a web-based information portal for the District ("Bradford Observatory"). Christina works on developing and maintaining "Bradford Community Statistics Project" and the range of data content, reports and user functionality. This work is presently being incorporated into the".

Main responsibilities are:
  • "To liaise with senior policy, technical officers and partner agencies to formally secure data.
  • "To analyse a range of datasets, and to provide a range of quality data, information and analysis on the District
  • "To develop a comprehensive range of online tools to support both the Council and its Partners in service planning, delivery and monitoring
  • "To be the primary contact within the Council for technical enquiries relating to the website.
