Area Profiles

This is the Area Profiles section, where you will find information about Area Profiles and Neighbourhoods. The need to work with and understand the needs of citizens at a neighbourhood level has increasingly come to the fore in recent years in government thinking and has become enshrined in the concept of “neighbourhood management” and in proposals to devolve more of the decision-making processes to local people. Within Bradford Council there is a specific Neighbourhoods Service which supports the Neighbourhoods agenda. It has the following key aims:

1. Engaging citizens and supporting neighbourhood working through local partnerships

2. Developing service co-ordination and tasking at a ward level

3. Strengthening connections between localities, Area and District, particularly Area and District

4. Using data to help set local priorities and help ensure all localities meet agreed outcomes

The Observatory will support neighbourhood-level working through providing wherever possible, the local small-area intelligence necessary to plan and deliver services at this local level as well as facilitating greater local consultation and involvement of communities. Specific coverage is provided below for the ‘Streets Ahead’ neighbourhood management schemes and for the recent Area Conferences.

Together, the economic assessment and ward profiles provide the evidence base to support the review of the Bradford District Economic Strategy and Delivery Plan.
Health Acorn Profiles
ACORN is the leading geodemographic tool used to identify and understand the UK population and the demand for products and services. The Council use this information to improve their understanding of the district, target markets and determine where and how to best allocate resources.
West Yorkshire Police Area Profiles
