A programme for public sector employees who engage and consult with
communities and want to do it better
|
Engaging Communities Training Programme 2009
is currently being reviewed
Increasingly, Health Services, the Local Authority, the Police and
other public sector organisations are being encouraged to increase
and improve the quality of consultation with service users in order
to respond to local priorities. Bradford Council has developed a training
programme for public sector employees who want to improve the way
they engage with communities.
The Spring 2008 programme consists of 7 Modules. The first is a
Core Module (mandatory before going onto the next modules) and is
an introduction to engaging with communities, focusing on planning
a consultation event. This Core Module provides a valuable context
before going onto more specific consultation methods. The next 6
Modules are elective, so you can pick and choose which ones you
think will be most relevant to you. If you have already completed
the Core Module under the previous training programme - Consultation
and Participation Training - please indicate on the Booking Form
when you attended as you may well be eligible to attend the other
modules without having to repeat the mandatory core module.
