The Streets Ahead (Neighbourhood Element ) of the Safer and
Stronger Communities Fund (Local Area Agreement) is a 3 year
funded initiative (April 06 – March 2010) to improve
outcomes in the most deprived areas and in particular to -
‘..,improve the quality of life for people in the most
disadvantaged neighbourhoods and ensure service providers
are more responsive to neighbourhood needs and improve their
delivery.’
The programme aims is to raise the quality of life and life
opportunities of people living in some of the 3% most disadvantaged
areas (3% most disadvantaged Super Output Areas) in the United
Kingdom. Using this information, the NE funding was allocated
to five Neighbourhood Management areas within the Bradford
District:
• Allerton & Lower Grange
• Holme Wood
• Little Horton
• South Keighley
• East Shipley
Each neighbourhood is managed by a Neighbourhood Manager.
