IMD 2007 - Introduction The Indicies of Deprivation 2007 (ID 2007) measures the multiple deprivation of every small area in England. The IMD is made up from 37 indicators which cover the following seven domains: Income Employment Health Deprivation and Disability Education, Skills and Training Barriers to Housing and Services Living Environment Crime The Indices of Deprivation 2007 have been produced at Lower Layer Super Output Area (LSOA) level, of which there are 32,482 in England. LSOAs are relatively small geographical areas containing around 1,500 people. Each LSOA has been given a score based on its level of deprivation, then these scores were used to rank LSOAs. The LSOA with a rank of 1 is the most deprived in England, and the LSOA with a rank of 32,482 is the least deprived. District and County level summaries have also been produced. There are 354 Local Authority districts and 149 County Councils in England.
