Bradford District Population is Projected to Grow to 586.0
Thousand by 2029
(Source: ONS 2007)
Every two years the Office for National Statistics (ONS) publish long term population projections for England and also for local authority areas.
The latest population projections are based on the ONS mid
2006 population estimates, and give an indication of future
population trends for the period 2006-2031.
ONS population projections are based on assumptions about future
trends in fertility, mortality and migration, derived from an
analysis of recent demographic trends.
The official ONS population projections do not take into account
any practical limitations that may exist in an area, such as
planning policies and changes in economic conditions, which
needs to be kept in mind when interpreting the figures.
A district population figure is available for each year, together
with projections by five year age band and gender.
National data and more information on the methodology used
to produce the figures can be found on the National Statistics
website at www.statistics.gov.uk/statbase/Product.asp?vink=997
